Matt Dawson

Dr Matt Dawson was has completed his orthopaedic training in London, a sports knee fellowship in Dublin,and joined North Cumbria University Hospital in 2001.

Mr Dawson has developed one of the largest UK practices in osteotomy with around 300 cases to date and he is one of the leading authorities on osteotomy surgery in the UK. He hosts a successful fellowship in Osteotomy and Knee surgery at North Cumbria University Hospital and lectures locally, nationally, internationally and has published in peer-reviewed journals on the subject of osteotomy.

Since 2015 he hosts the annual Northern Osteotomy Masterclass. Currently Mr Dawson is collaborating with a leading American company and European colleagues with a groundbreaking technology aimed at increasing accuracy of osteotomy surgery.

Mr Dawson currently undertakes his NHS practice at the North Cumbria University Hospital and consults privately at the Highgrove Clinic in Carlisle and BMI Hospital in Lancaster. At the 3rd Lovisenberg Osteotomy Course he will present on Accuracy in osteotomy with postoperative correction and on osteotomy registries UKKOR. He will also participate in a surgical technique demonstration regarding the latest osteotomy surgical procedures he performs.
