Dr. Øystein Høvik M.D. studied medicine in Freiburg, Edinburgh and finally in Oslo and has finished his residencies in general surgery and orthopaedic surgery in 1989. For more than 20 years he has worked in Lovisenberg Diakonale Hospital in Oslo which has the largest knee centre in Norway. He has been lecturing on national and international courses on the subject of osteotomy, total-, partial- and revision knne arthroplasty for the past 15 years.He organized the two previous Osteotomy Courses at Lovisenberg Hospital together with his colleague Tore Jervidalo and Ronald van Heerwaarden in an attempt to regain interest in osteotomy surgery in Norway.
Dr Høvik is currently working as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, at the Lovisenberg Hospital and acts as local chairman at the 3rd Lovisenberg Osteotomy Course He will give a presentation on old dogmas of osteotomies.
